SERVICES

We are in the process of establishing the Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre.

We expect to begin the design stage for a fit-for-purpose building by the end of 2022, and are working towards having services available at an interim site by the second half of 2023.

Once it is open, the Centre will offer support to women, that holistically, comprehensively, and personally addresses the impacts of domestic, family, and sexual violence for each woman. A best practice ‘one stop wrap-around’ multi-sectoral recovery and healing support service for as long as each woman needs.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Illawarra Women’s Trauma Recovery Centre is situated on the land of the Dharawal Nation. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land and we pay our respects to Elders past and present for they hold the memories, traditions and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia.

This land is, was, and always will be traditional Aboriginal land. We acknowledge that we work in the context of generations of resilient, strengths-based, holistic resistance to violence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We commit to actively supporting and promoting the voices of Aboriginal people and organisations in our work. We fully support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart.
